Nigel Purdie

Nigel Purdie was the Managing Director of Taranaki House Inspections and is an Accredited Building Surveyor of the Building Officials Institute of New Zealand (BOINZ), plus a Certified Infrared Thermographer. He now works for TelferYoung (Taranaki) Limited.

Nigel served his carpentry and joiner apprenticeship at Jones and Sandford in New Plymouth and then became self-employed as a Building Contractor in 1970.
After the construction of the Rarotongan Sunset Motel in 1986 he stayed on in the Cook Islands to manage the property until its sale in 1996. Shortly after his return to New Zealand he became a private Building Inspector in the Auckland area. Nigel’s return to Taranaki brings a wealth of building knowledge and experience in both the residential and commercial construction areas.

Taranaki House Inspections (now TelferYoung) has a combination of building and construction experience developed over 45 years in the industry. This includes the latest technology with a thermal imaging camera.
